Henk Spoon (62), whose roles include being a partner at Brandwatch Consultancy, has been appointed as chairman of the Flower Council of Holland with effect from 1 June 2018. He succeeds Boy van Droffelaar, who during his twelve years as chairman has shown great commitment in piloting the Flower Council of Holland through periods of shrinkage and growth. Van Droffelaar always adopted a professional and unifying approach in his role as chairman. Spoon, who has now taken over his tasks, has extensive experience of developing commercial strategies and is also known as a down to earth go-getter.

Effective approach
The arrival of Henk Spoon strengthens the board of the Flower Council of Holland with an experienced powerhouse with a proven track record in the field of sales and marketing. The appointment fits with the new structure of the Flower Council of Holland, which is specifically aimed at targeting the collective promotion of the floriculture sector more closely at the practical situation. This is being done by initiating extra shopper activation alongside the Flower Council of Holland’s familiar promotion campaigns. This will allow closer collaboration with growers and wholesalers to further enhance the consumer experience and boost sales of flowers and plants. The appointment of Spoon as chairman fits with this new strategy.
